0:19Introduction

Welcome, this is Terry Ewell.

0:22Section

Study 19 is like a marathon! It demands concentration to accurately perform all the notes from beginning to end. Furthermore, the performer must do so while breathing at widely spaced intervals, resulting in progressively lower oxygen levels.

0:52Beat Displacement Practice

In addition to practicing short sections with sprints, beat displacement using rhythms can help you master this study. For example, here are the two obvious beat divisions using rhythms beginning in line 7.

1:35Four-Note Pattern over Triplets

However, for even greater mastery, try imposing a pattern of four notes over the triplets.

2:02Reflection: Hearing God's Voice

> "...he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice." > > (John 10:4, NKJV)

2:23Harry Leesment Summary

This is the second of three reflections on hearing God's voice. If you have not listened to the first reflection contained in the video on Weissenborn Study #18, I encourage you to do so.

2:37Forget the Past vs. Remember the Past

Here are some further summaries of the article by Harry Leesment. These comments help clarify the difference between God's voice and the destructive voices of adversaries. 4. Forget the past vs. remember the past. God forgives our sins and our mistakes. The adversary loves to replay the "videos" of our past wrongdoings.

2:57Attraction to God vs. Rejection

5. Attraction to God vs. rejection. The Spirit of God draws us toward God. Evil forces convince people that they are unworthy and rejected by God.

3:15Rightly Brings the Bible vs. Distorts the Bible

6. Rightly brings the Bible vs. distorts the Bible. The Spirit of God is given to help us understand the Bible. Adversaries, however, seek to twist its words and meanings.

3:33Draws You into Fellowship vs. Isolates

7. Draws you into fellowship vs. isolates. God desires a family—a community of people who believe in Him. The adversaries desire isolated individuals who are easier to destroy.
